Have you experienced a sudden drop in your klout score? Klout recently announced that they changed the algorithm, which is the course of the sudden drop in score that many users experience.

Today we’re releasing a new scoring model with insights to help you understand changes in your influence. This project represents the biggest step forward in accuracy, transparency and our technology in Klout’s history.

Klout is a popular site among users of social networks, and while a Klout score tells little about reality, it may still be fun for some to aim for higher scores.

What is Klout anyway?

Klout attempts to make it easier for users to analyze their effectiveness on social networks, creating an estimate score from the data it collects. This can be useful in online marketing, when trying to figure out what works and what doesn't.

In many cases however i's easier to simply rely on the social networks alone.

Klouts new algorithm

The new algorithm should allow Klout to share which actions that effects your score and how they effect the score. The things that can effect your score can be:

  • how many people you influence.
  • how much you influence them.
  • how influential they are.
